Service Deionization (SDI) From Hudson Bay to the Gulf of Mexico

Service deionization is a portable DI and carbon exchange service that allows customers to produce high purity water in an economical manner. A typical SDI system includes a carbon tank and ion exchange resin tanks which are designed and configured to meet your requirements for water quantity, quality and financial goals.

Mar Cor has local offices in 19 locations, 6 of which are regeneration facilities in the US and Canada to provide timely and economical SDI services. Factory trained and certified Mar Cor Service Technicians install and maintain the SDI systems with freshly regenerated ion exchange resins. Each system is supported by a support center to provide minimum 48 hour response to emergencies.

Quality control of the entire process is critical to meeting the needs and expectations of our customers, and we have the highest level of quality control in the industry. From incoming QC of resins and tanks to verification of regeneration procedures to tank traceability, all aspects of the process are provided.

In addition to the full line of SDI Products , Mar Cor’s service team can provide related items such as replacement parts, filter cartridges, membranes, UV lights and various types of instrumentation.

SDI PRODUCTS

ACTIVATED CARBON UNITS remove both chlorine and dissolved organic contaminants. By using acid washed, virgin carbons with a 12x40 mesh size and an iodine number of at least 1000, Mar Cor carbon units ensure maximum water quality and an extended service life of the carbon bed. All units are backwashed and rinsed with Reverse Osmosis / UV Sterilized water to eliminate a potential source of bacteria.

DIALYSIS CARBON UNITS remove both chlorine and dissolved organic contaminants. In dialysis applications, Mar Cor uses a special virgin activated carbon, which reduces Chloramines to acceptable levels for dialysis applications. Mar Cor acid washed, virgin carbons with a 12x40 mesh size and an iodine number of at least 1000, units ensure maximum water quality and an extended service life of the carbon bed. All units are backwashed and rinsed with Reverse Osmosis / UV Sterilized water prior installation to eliminate a potential source of bacteria

CATION DEIONIZERS have a high capacity to remove positively charged dissolved ionic contaminants such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese (when used in conjunction with an anion deionizer they can produce a water quality in excess of 400,000 ohm/cm. (.9 ppm TDS as CaCO3).

ANION BED DEIONIZERS have a high capacity to remove negatively charged dissolved ionic contaminants such as carbonate, bicarbonates, sulfates, chlorides, nitrates and silica (when used in conjunction with a cation deionizer they can produce a water quality in excess of 400,000 ohm/cm. (.9ppm TDS as CaCO3 )

MIXED BED DEIONIZERS enhanced removal of silica and CO2 , as well as provide higher quality, and a more neutral pH than separate bed systems. Mar Cor’s units can be used to produce the quality of water required for any application, up to 18 megaohm-cm resistivity at 25°C. In-line quality monitors can be provided to immediately alert users when resin tanks need to be changed.

POLISHED MIXED-BED DEIONIZERS are charged with a low TOC semi-conductor grade resin to provide superior silica removal, and significantly lower TOC levels. Ideal for microelectronics and pharmaceutical applications where stricter control of critical contaminants are required. These units are utilized only after a Reverse Osmosis system. (Available in Canada only)

DEDICATED RESIN DEIONIZERS are used in special situations such as validated systems, where the resin from a specific client is not mixed with other resins, but regenerated in a dedicated process. Documentation is provided to support the process procedures. (Available in Canada only)

MACROPOROUS ORGANIC SCAVENGER RESINS offer extra-large internal surface areas, and can therefore provide an effective method for the removal of organic matter such as tanning and Lignins. (Available in Canada only)

Quality Control

At Mar Cor, there are no shortcuts on quality. Proper regeneration is critical for optimum performance, exchange capacity, total volume output and low operating cost. Our quality control specialists carefully pretest, then select only resin lots that meet our stringent requirements, assuring you the highest quality water and maximum performance from each regenerated deionizer. For critical hemodialysis applications our SDI systems are regenerated in US FDAQSR Inspected facilities in accordance as well as Health Canada.

Quality Tested Before it Reaches You
Each regenerated service unit is tested for pressure integrity and product water quality before it is installed in your plant.

Quality Control
Incoming QC: Raw materials must meet quality specifications.
In-Process QC: Each component has its own operating criteria, and the entire process is monitored.
Final Product QC: Materials are double checked for quality with results recorded in the batch record.

Sanitization
Each service unit is chemically sanitized before refilling.

Document Control
We have a comprehensive document control system. No process changes are made without proper notification and approval.

Tank Traceability
The serial number of each service unit is recorded on the production control log, so total traceability is ensured.
